In 2012 Laois County Council made a commitment to transition to a lower carbon county. This evolved through meetings and submissions from LEAF to the county development plan.

A patchwork blanket

But going now is the concept of the “job for life”; something you’d study for in youth and then spend your life improving your skills at, earning more and more pay until you’d retire with a generous final salary pension.

I am founding member of Goettingen im Wandel e.V. and co-organizes the first transition conference in germany 2010. I am quite active with co-organizing a fair trade and eco focussed fairy in Munich once a year. Since 2011 I am doing my phd at the university of Goettingen in transition science. Right now, I do build up a transition researcher network in Germany called "traFu".
