Canberra Transition Town
Canberra is an exciting place, where a strong network of community groups and passionate people are working to make our city a sustainable, resilient, healthy place to live.
Canberra is a world leading example of a transition town, with laws to reduce carbon emissions and reach 90% renewable energy by 2020, and dozens of groups building the communities, projects and infrastructure for the city we want to live in.
To strengthen sustainability networking and collaboration across the ACT, Canberra’s community and environmental organisations came together on Monday the 25 May 2015 to launch Canberra Transition Town.
The launch was an inspiring evening of networking with local groups, it provided the opportunity for everyone to meet the groups making change in the Canberra community, and it gave everyone the opportunity to share their aspirations and become involved in the transition to a resilient and sustainable city.

Canberra Transition Town now meets each 6 months.
A Canberra Transition Activities Map has also been created, which outlines the various activities happening in and around the Australian Capital Territory.
