One Year in Transition UK (1YT UK) is open for applications for an October start. We support people (often at a transition point in their lives) to design their own life projects and make a living as agents of social change.
Structured to fit around daily life, students are in the 1YT learning as they carry out their work in the world.
Over four week-long meet-ups (mostly in South Devon) and ten months of support in between, students evolve their future income-generating livelihoods.
Ingredients are Regenerative Design, hands-on experience of whole-systems change, personal and project mentors, contact with outstanding change agents, exposure to a range of projects, a whole web of resources and a supportive network of peers in a community of practice. And at £3000 for a year it is really good value for money. Bursaries are also available on request.
From this October the upper age limit has been removed so anyone over 20 can apply. Also, the programme has now moved into the Bioregional Learning Centre stable so we will be teaching from the challenge of making systems change happen on the ground in South Devon.
