Launch online
IN Knowledge & learning
Launch Online is packed with imaginative ways to delve into the practice of setting up, running and growing a Transition project. It is also useful for people who have recently become involved in a Transition group and want to develop the essential skills and insights to help their Transition Group become a success.
This is a unique opportunity to engage live, online, with people who have been at the heart of the Transition movement from the beginning. As the sessions are live and interactive, you can question, explore, and consider what has worked and what hasn’t, how others in your position have approached and created Transition groups, and what made them thrive.
This training is run in English, French and Spanish by teams of experienced Transition trainers and is an opportunity to be a part of a wide-ranging, international learning community where the conversation can range from the most detailed and personal to the important ‘big picture’ questions we are facing. The only limitation is our imagination.
Naresh Giangrande writes:
“I love facilitating Launch online. Meeting over eight weeks gives us time. We have time to think and consider things that otherwise happens so quickly in a face to face training; to listen again to a webinar, to ask questions once you have slept on it. We get to know each other (even though we never physically meet), and we have time to understand each other at a deeper level. And, as there is often someone who is actively setting up a Transition or other group, we get support and insights from their experience. It is an online action learning process”.
Here is is a sample of what participants have said about Launch OnLine:
“This is the most energising, deep and at the same time very mind-provoking course I’ve attended in years. I had no idea that working together online could be that powerful…”: Griet from Belgium.
“I gained immensely from each session, & from all your sharing!! I’ve been wanting to take the Launch course, & was only able to now, thanks to the online alternative. So I also give a deep bow of appreciation to Naresh, Tom, Jennifer, & all those who helped initiate this course!”: Diane in Malaysia.
“I have more than 10 years of experience both designing/delivering and participating in online learning but I have never experienced what I experienced today at my second week of Transition Training. Energized, emotional, inspired…again, a group of wonderful people from Denmark, Sweden, Ireland, UK, France, Senegal, Netherlands, US, Spain, Brazil, New Zealand and Canada demonstrated that around the world there are people who care”: Silvia from BC, Canada

How does it work?
This training is delivered in a series of eight live webinars (online seminars) of 1.5 hours each.
Experienced facilitators will take you through each webinar using an interactive learning style that has made the face to face course so popular and effective. In each webinar you will be guided by members of the facilitation team through one of the important skills of Transition.
There will be a blend of group exercises and talks. But the bulk of the time is spent in learner-directed learning, asking and responding to questions and exploring topics. You can read beforehand a ‘lesson’, covering the material for this week’s topics. Lessons typically contain text, visuals, and video links, as well as links to more in-depth materials if you are interested.
You will be attending a full, complete training live with other participants from elsewhere in the world. Although in different places, you will be united by your passion and supporting each other in learning the Transition process.
In between each weekly webinar there will be a private forum space for everyone including the facilitators to continue to discuss and explore ideas and topics from the live webinars.
You will be invited to undertake tasks each week to immediately apply the learning to your own life, and to your Transition project; whether you are still in the set up or finding out about it phase, or actively doing Transition. In this private space there will be a chance to share what interests you: blog posts, videos, questions, and share your insights, challenges, and learning. This space will remain live for a time after the course for you to continue to learn and support each other.
There will also be a set of online resources that will provide background information and a chance to go into greater depth on any of the topics that you might wish to.
