Are you a passionate activist striving to make a difference in the world? Do you believe in the power of community actions and have a story to share? Are you ready to inspire change and lead a socially just transition? If so, we invite you to become one of the Voices of Transition.

About Voices of Transition

Voices of Transition is a dynamic new project that aims to amplify the voices of storytellers and changemakers from diverse backgrounds. We are looking to support people from all around the world who are passionate about imaginative and constructive storytelling, and narrative change. People with visions that embolden practical solutions, mutual care, regenerative social systems rooted in social justice and self-governance, and new economic models based on well-being, inclusivity and intersectionality.

Each of these FIVE Voices will have a chance to raise awareness about the importance of local, deep, community-led change. They will learn to amplify the positive transformations they witness in their communities. Through their interconnected knowledge and creative resilience, the Voices of Transition will narrate stories and solutions that can sustain us for the coming decades. Together, we can use our voices to co-create a fairer, freer, and more vibrant world.

If this describes YOU, this is your chance to share your community story, receive professional communications training, and be part of a global movement that fosters resilience, regeneration, and social justice. We are looking for dedicated budding storytellers – speakers, podcasters and vloggers – who can inspire others to lead self-sustainable lives and make meaningful impacts on their communities.

Who Should Apply?

We are seeking FIVE individuals who:

• Are passionate about making a difference in the world with their voice and actions.
• Are involved in a community or network that can act as a catalyst or example worldwide.
• Are committed to participating in bi-monthly training, focus meetings and check-ins, for the duration of the project (seven months).
• Are eager to exchange ideas and support fellow participants through community rhythms and mutual support practices.
• Are excited about engaging in public speaking.
• Are interested in exploring how language shapes the attention focus of people.
• Are a member or a representative of a marginalised community.

What’s in it for You?

As a Voice of Transition, you will:

• Create a storytelling journey which meets the specific needs of your community, and champion social justice through your engagement.
• Receive formal training in public speaking, creative writing and online communications, tailored to your needs.
• Gain exposure and a platform to reach wider audiences, raising issues often omitted in mainstream media. Your profile will be showcased and amplified throughout our network as a featured storyteller.
• Connect with other ongoing regenerative projects and initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with fellow transitioners, researchers, and activists.

Expected impact

Through Voices of Transition you will contribute to:

• Amplify the Transition Movement framework and principles to make an impact on mainstream culture.
• Social Justice and Just Transition: bring the unique voice and experience of your underrepresented community into the public spotlight.
• Think creatively about how to approach and work with media that might not traditionally align with the values we advocate for.
• Stronger and unified collective force of aligned voices, representing Transition and regenerative movements worldwide.
• Creating and curating collaborative content to bring awareness to the current global issues humanity is collectively facing.

The project will take place from September 2024 to March 2025.
The application form is open from 5 August to 15 September 2024. We will inform all applicants of the selection by mid-September 2024.

A QUEST

You as a Voice of Transition will have a chance to work with one of the ten Transition Characteristics in which you can develop your storytelling journey. We will help you by training you in your preferred media style, connecting you to a community group that does that practise, and bringing your impact story to the world.
