The Transition Town Eugene initiative was begun by a small group of people who attended the Eugene Local and Green Unconference, November 6th, 2010. The Unconference was facilitated by an “Open Space” methodology, and one of the discussion groups combined topics related to public outreach, neighborhood associations and how we might broaden the information available to the public regarding issues of peak oil and climate change. Out of that discussion came a commitment to begin a transition initiative in Eugene. Our second discussion will be held this Friday (November 12th) at the World Café, 449 Blair Blvd, in Eugene, Oregon.
We’ll see where this takes us.
