Did you take part in International Transition Health Check month?
By Sarah McAdam 25th April 2019
March 2019 was the first international Transition Health Check month – a locally-focused, internationally-connected reflection experiment!
It’s been great to see so much interest in the Transition Health Check process – if you’re catching up, here’s the blog that explains what’s involved and how your group can benefit. Already, nearly 2000 people from 81 countries have visited our new multi-lingual Health Check platform. We know that a number of groups carried out a health check during March and others have meetings booked in April.
If your group met to do the health check, congratulations and thank you for taking part. We hope you had a nourishing and energising meeting and found the process useful and enjoyable. It almost certainly didn’t go perfectly – that’s just fine.
If you haven’t yet managed to hold a health check meeting, it’s not too late. To be included in our initial analysis of results, you need to complete the process and share your results by Monday 6 May.
Upload your results by 6 May
Once your group has completed the health check process, please enter your results here – https://transitioninitiative.org/. Working with hubs and translators from many different countries, we’ve created and are now testing a platform which will help us build a more accurate, living picture of our international movement. All the information we receive by 6 May will be analysed and we will publish a summary of our findings and reflections in June. Together we can celebrate the positives and reflect on what else might be needed to help the Transition movement have even more impact in the future. Amongst other benefits, we believe that a more detailed and up-to-date self-assessment will help us attract more resources and support for the important work being done in communities across the world.
The health check will help your group identify particular areas where you may wish to focus your energy and attention. If you need immediate inspiration or support, you can find resources on the Transition Network website which relate to the relevant section of the healthcheck (see https://transitionnetwork.org/do-transition/starting-transition/7-essential-ingredients/). When we publish our analysis of the results of the first health check month, we will respond directly to the information you have shared with us – pointing to additional resources or relevant activity from across and beyond our movement.
If you are a Facebook User, you can share your experience of the health check here – Health Check Month event page. We would love to hear your feedback, particularly any suggestions for making the health check even more useful for Transition Groups in the future.
Thank you again for taking part in this global experiment, and for all you and your group are doing to reimagine and rebuild our world.
