Funding stream for food projects now open (London, UK)

Just received notice of a scheme that could be of immense help to some of the food initiatives in London.

“Capital Growth is offering funding to community groups starting or expanding community food-growing spaces. Grants are available from £150-£750 to finance seeds, tools, soil and other materials needed for the development of a food – growing space. The campaign’s 7th funding round is open until Monday, November 7th 2011 at 5pm and applications are available online.Community groups must have permission for the landowner in order to apply. Capital Growth’s plan to have 2012 growing spaces in London by the end of 2012 looks like a well-conceived and well-supported endeavour.
