New video from Stroudco Food Hub in UK
By Ben Brangwyn 5th August 2010
Stroud has always been a pioneering community. They were one of the very early adopters of the transition model and have been working on relocalising food production for many years. Nick Weir, a key member of the f3 food social enterprise, has been a long term supporter of Transition Network, presenting at several of our conferences.
Nick has just sent us a link to a new video about Stroudco, a not-for-profit co-op of local food producers and food consumers. You can read the Stroudco Project Profile in our directory and get in touch with enquiries. They are particularly interested in hearing from people who have been working with schools.
Stroudco aims to give a better deal to people who produce food and people who eat it than the supermarkets do. Food prices are around 10% less than retail prices.
Here’s the video:
Thanks to Nick and the Stroudco folks for showing us some truly workable and sustainable models of food production and distribution.
