On a meeting of old friends at the conference
By conference-2010 13th June 2010
From Adrienne Campbell of TT Lewes
One of the highlights of this conference has been meeting my old friend Charlotte Du Cann from Transition Norwich and Transition Bungay. When we were last friends, in our early 20s, in London, Charlotte was a high-powered, jet setting fashion journalist for the Observer.
In the intervening time she travelled the world, lived in Arizona and Mexico, researched and wrote books about plant medicine, and after being kicked out of the States after 9/11, landed back in East Anglia, from which she’s only strayed twice in the last 5 years.
We rediscovered each other online through both being transitioners, and planned to meet here. We’re camping on the floor of the womens’ dorm and yesterday co-facilitated a workshop on communications and the media yesterday.

I’m strangely moved to rediscover an old friend this way, and inspired by Charlotte’s deep-heart writing from the transition edge. Check out her This Low Carbon Life blog
