The National Justice and Peace Network are running an excellent looking conference from 16-18 July, and have kindly offered Transition a free stall and ticket to the event. It is in The Hayes Centre, Swanwick, Derbyshire, so we are looking for a local Initiative who would be interested in participating in this excellent event.
The keynote speakers include Alastair McIntosh, Shay Cullen, Elizabeth Dowler, Vandana Shiva, among others (a pretty seriously good start in our opinion), and the workshops range from Liturgies to discussions on the ethics of British supermarkets supplying illegal settlements in Israel to wasted food to Biodiversity via Transition, organic growing, development studies and more.
All in all it looks great. You can download and peruse all the relevant workshops, agendas etc. from their conference page.
Can a nearby Transition initiative please take them up on their kind offer?
