Project owners update: please update your project profiles
By Ed Mitchell 25th February 2013
Ed the Transition Network web manager here. I hope you are well and having a good day. I am contacting you to ask you to update your project profile on the Transition Network website.
Please update your project profile
Please can you go to the Transition Network website and update your project profile? It will take three minutes. It will make your project profile better, easier to find, and more relevant to people’s searches. The project profiles are also now being shown on local Transition Initiatives’ websites as well via our ‘projects widget’ so your projects can be shown in your local area as well as on the main site.
- Your project: (supplied in the email as a title)
- Your project’s URL: (supplied in the email as a link)
Here is a handy guide to editing your project profile
We are very keen to help promote your projects and have introduced a ‘featured projects’ list on the projects homepage – if you update yours and want it to be in the list, please contact me once you’ve done your update and let me know.
Background and point of updating
You may remember a mail from me late last year outlining how we have updated our project profile templates. This is to make them easier to complete, more useful, easier to find, and with more ‘searchable’ fields and options.
The aim is to make your project more findable in more ways in more places.
You will see that all of the text you added in the various fields is now in one description field for simplicity. We have moved it all in there. You can check it’s all there, and edit it if suitable. Please also select some of the new options – they all mean that your project shows up in the right place, ultimately putting your project in front of the person who is searching for projects like yours.
We have now moved the Transition Network website. I hoped this would be done by Christmas, but we finally did it last week. it’s been a learning experience, but it’s done. So we are now ready to invite you to the site to bring your project information up to date.
Thank you again for adding your project to the directory – we hope it helps your project with being more visible, and other people’s projects by being able to learn from your experience and be in touch with you to share ideas.
And thank you for doing the project! Good for you! Keep it up 🙂
best
Ed
