The Big Lunch: will 2010 be bigger than 2009?
By Ben Brangwyn 27th April 2010
From our friends at the Big Lunch…
You’re invited to a very Big Lunch!
The Big Lunch invites you to sit down and have lunch with your neighbours, in the middle of your street, on Sunday 18th July. Last year 730,000 people ate at 8,000 Lunches all across the UK – the biggest set of street parties since the Golden Jubilee. It’s really easy to get involved – for free Big Lunch, tips, inspiration and resources, and to register your Big Lunch visit www.thebiglunch.com, have a chat with the team on 0845 850 8181 or email email@example.com.
The Big Lunch Supporter briefing may also make good reading if you’re contemplating getting involved.
The Big Lunch are also doing a regional PR tour, launching to press in London on 21st May and then travelling to Manchester, Newcastle, Birmingham and Leeds. The events will centre around a large 3D artwork that depicts a street party scene and we are inviting Big Lunch organisers, from last year and those doing things this year, to participate and speak to press about their experiences. If any transitioners got involved last year or are doing so this year, they may like to join us. It could help raise awareness about your local initiative – please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you’d like to get involved in the PR tour.
