And woman, she was tired of playing an un-whole-some role and took back her power, her lost third aspect of sexual love and chaos and regeneration,
And man, he was tired of disowning a part of his being, and took into himself that part of the goddess that he had for so long denied, without losing his masculine essence, and
Together the two stood whole in the sky, side by side, the way they always could have if they had only realized…
And man, when he heard woman speak her truth he listened and listened well heard the words touch deeply on that part of him that was goddess too
And woman, when she felt man worshipping her she responded and responded well to the spirit that was part of her too
We are equal said they, aye and different too, within us and represented by us are the goddess and the god, the infinite and the finite, the soul and the spirit, the past and the future, woman & man
And you can’t grow the fruit of the future without roots firmly planted in the past and without the strong trunk of recent generations, and without the branches of the present on which to build and to love and to grow new buds
They said
And as they gazed into each other’s eyes and saw their truth reflected there in one another’s eyes they knew it was so
On a bed of matriarchal subjugation of Man, of the ritualized killing of the king each year, to represent the finite nature of the masculine, made from the infinite’s longing for manifestation, from chaos born, the mighty spirit had come in to being and the potentiality of the darkness had lain with him, and Eros was born
The play of patriarchy arose, and Man rose up and subjugated Her who had for so long held him back, took from Woman her mighty power, the sexual love of spirit she had, her chaos out of which all is born, and her knowledge of the power to transmute everything in existence forever and ever. Finite he might be, but powerless he was not.
Oh my love
Said Venus to Jupiter as they stood side by side like two mighty oaks
I wronged you, for I knew no better, saw in you only the power to impregnate me with the power of creation and saw not you in your wholeness. I am sorry.
Oh my love
Said Jupiter to Venus as they stood as equals, in the night sky, her light a little brighter as she stepped forward to be seen
I wronged you, for I knew no better, saw in you the almighty power of life, death, and transformation, and was a-feared, saw not that that which is in you is in me too. I am sorry.
And the two, well long they gazed, at the beloved other that had dwelt in their heart over the millennia, and together they grieved, they cried out in anguish for that which they had done to hurt the other, in their pain, and in the love they had forbidden themselves from feeling, so that it had escaped in fits and starts when Romeo loved Juliet, and Guinevere loved Lancelot, Tristan Isolde, Ariadne Theseus, Medea Jason, and Circe loved Odysseus.
Isis and Osiris, Aphrodite and Adonis, Psyche & Eros, Innana and Dimmuz, and yet still
The two great forces had stood alone and called out from the half knowledge they had
I am right, I am right. Listen or I will take away your power
Innana, Astarte, Isis, Aphrodite, have I been
I am Goddess, holder of the Soul, keeper of the Past, Infinite dreamer, Lover of Spirit, Woman
Visnu, Ra, Jehowah, Zeus, have I been named
I am God, embodiment of Spirit, key to the Future, Finite being, Consort of Soul, Man
And fought they had, over millennia, for the supremacy of …what?
How can finite fight the infinite, or infinite the finite? What nonsense have we made, of the perfectly divine equation; the fusing of the two to make Manifest….all that their dreaming and being ness can.
The goddess in me sees the goddess in you
The god in me sees the god in you
We are one, embodiments of the whole, and here we have played out, infants in the sand, the greatest drama that ever yet played, that of woman against man and man against woman.
Enough.
Said they
Here we two stand, at the dawning of a new age, the Age of Aquarius, the dawning of Humanarchy. No more shall we win our power by taking away that of the other, out of unconscious belief, or naked fear.
Stand in our power, together side by side, like two mighty oak trees, the same but different. What wonders can we work now, beloved? What shall we manifest out of our knowing of one another’s power, and of one another’s pain, of one another’s grief, and of our bliss?
What shall you dream into being, my love? Let me be the one to assist you. No, let it be me that assists you. No, let it come, bubble up, from our ecstatic union, just like it always has…and always will
& what treasure shall we create now, beloved, what Child from this place, of Consciousness?
Looked one into the eyes of the other, and Love; Perfect Love, the marriage of Eros, Agape, Philia, and Storge was born in that moment; and the universe sighed a sigh of relief.
They’ve got it
sang the other beings… At Last… Heaven on Earth,
Paradise is right here, right Now …if you seize the moment
Look up into the night sky
And see them tonight
The mighty God of the Patriachs
Side by side
With the mighty Goddess of the Matriachs
This time is the end of history,
And the end of herstory too…
It is the beginning of Ourstory.
