Transition: Bounce Forward – What Next?
By Yaz Brien 3rd February 2021 Knowledge & learning
Three weeks of workshops, events and networking to build community power across the UK.
After distributing £140,000 to 112 Transition projects across England at the end of 2020, we’re excited to share the latest news from Transition: Bounce Forward.
Next month’s What Next? Summit will build community power across the UK by bringing together hundreds of community activists already making change happen, so together they can have a bigger impact.
Developed in collaboration with CTRLShift, Losing Control and Scottish Communities Climate Action Network it will be a space to empower communities in the UK to create the future, tap into collective imagination, make new connections, and share knowledge to build a stronger movement.
Over the course of three weeks they will be hosting a wide range of events and workshops. From a blizzard of inspiring stories of change happening across the world, to mapping the plethora of community groups and projects already making change happen in the UK. From a workshop series on the new economy, participatory democracy and community organising, to inspiring speakers such as Kate Raworth, Suhaiymah Manzoor-Khan and Carne Ross exploring how the power of imagination can transform our current practice. A whole day will be set aside to imagine and co-create a vision for the future in the ‘Pop up 2030’ event, as well as finishing the Summit with a weekend of practically planning next steps and ways to work together more effectively as a movement over the coming months and years.
To maximise opportunities for connection and learning there will also be a Summit Fringe throughout the whole conference. Using an exciting new Nudj platform participants will be able to find the live events calendar, connect with others and host fringe conversations and events.
If you’re involved in community organising and action in the UK, this event is not to be missed.
