Transition in action Job in Totnes
By Ed Mitchell 21st October 2010
Transition Town Totnes have a job going for a ‘Transition in Action Manager’. Here’s some of the information, for more, download the document attached to this news item…
TTT has just completed its first 4 dynamic years, and has inspired hundreds of volunteers and supporters to engage in a wide variety of projects to address the challenges of peak oil, climate change, economic uncertainty and the need to create a resilient, sustainable community. The visioning and engagement work has been brought together in the first ever published Energy descent action Plan (EDAP).
TTT is in the process of moving to the next phase, focusing on building the infrastructure of a resilient community, with the completed EDAP as a strong base from which to move forward. This requires two areas of attention: ensuring the continuing central activity which supports the activities of all the groups and projects that make up TTT; and strengthening the project support role which helps to take ideas through to successful enterprises.
We now wish to appoint a manager who can help us to become financially and operationally sustainable and to shape the next phase of our development. We are looking for someone who is a futures thinker, passionate about our agenda and is inspired by the potential for TTT to make a real difference– while at the same time improving our operational systems and securing income streams.
The job role is funded for three years; the appointment will carry a 6 month probationary period.Totnes is an internationally known town and the work of TTT is one of the reasons for this reputation. This role will have a high profile. It is a truly exciting opportunity.
