Transition Poetry Please!

Poets are invited to submit their Transition inspired words to a competition and for possible inclusion in an anthology. There are 3 age categories for the competition that closes at midnight on 4th July.
Transition Leytonstone (East London) are participating in The Leytonstone Festival with a poetry competition for all ages. Entrants are asked to write a poem containing one or more transition themes, including Local Food. We are looking for work that shows a strong ability to communicate Transition issues through the medium of poetry.There are 3 age categories for entrants: Junior, 6-11; Senior,12-17; Adult: 18+.
All entries to be emailed to vision@flipsidevision.com by 11.59 pm on July 4th.
The judging panel will include 2 members of Transition Leytonstone, a member of Leytonstone Poetry Society, and 3 eco-poets. Prizes will include signed eco poetry books, children’s seed packs and vegetable seedlings.
Winners and runners up will be invited to read their work at ‘Songs of the Earth’, the Leytonstone Festival Eco-Poetry Event, on Friday July 23rd. This event will take place at the Quaker Meeting House in Bush Road, London E11 3AU. Doors open at 6.15pm, vegan refreshments will be served.
A Transition poetry anthology is currently being planned, so don’t hide your light under a bushel – even if you don’t win, you may see your work in print.
