Wiser.org celebrates its Fifth Anniversary with an Online Photo Competition
By Laura Whitehead 28th April 2012
Wiser.org (also known as Wiser Earth) the social network for sustainability, has grown to become a global community of over 70,000 members since its founding back in 2007.
On Earth Day (22nd April), Wiser.org celebrated its fifth anniversary with the launch of an online-based photo competition. The Earth Day Living Contest lasts until May 14th. The contest is just one of several anniversary events ongoing at Wiser.org.
Over the last five years, countless individuals have helped shape the Wiser network. The premise of this contest is simple: How do you live Earth Day every day? Tell them in 50 words or less, take a picture to illustrate your entry, and upload it to their contest page on Facebook.
Who should participate?
Anyone who has made a choice to live in a more sustainable way — from creating a community garden to joining in on meat-free Mondays, supporting a local car-sharing initiative, volunteering, working for a not-for-profit organisation, or supporting social change initiatives in a community.
Join in with their celebrations by visiting their contest page on Facebook or you can find out more about Wiser.org by visiting their website.
