First Full Moon Gathering
By Guest Author 14th April 2021
Andrea Giraldo López of the Inner Transition Circle reports back from the first Moon and Sun celebration.
Honoring our return to natural cycles in celebration of our connection
On a full moon in February 2021, we gathered to celebrate the first Moon & Sun Celebrations that gathered people from different places of Latin America and Europe. This was an event held in Spanish, opening doors for beings in all territories to join in the conversation and weaving of practices and actions around the inner transformation process we are embraced upon. It was a compelling birth for an event, as the process of design and co-creation for the gathering enriched us by making visible the subtleness in the details we need to take into account in order to sustain the ground of care and transparency that holds us in our culture for Transition.
An open space to share inner actions and connect
During the gathering, the space was opened for people to share how they are living their inner actions as individuals, in community and as a network. A collective practice to speak from our own experience, remembering times in our lives where we have had to face difficult times and what inner resources have been helpful to rise above those moments. Calls and prayers for the need of rainwater in Mexico and Chile arose as we connected with what moves us from the inside during a full moon and how our relationship with the pain of Mother Earth can be a mirror and opportunity for us to liberate ourselves and tune into focus with what really nurtures our hearts with joy and sense of purpose during these times.
Re-connection with our ancestors kept resonating as also the essence of trust that comes from being able to rest in the harmony of coming in balance with our authentic feminine and masculine energies. Recognizing that life starts beneath the soil, in ocean depths, the gathering was opened with a meditation where we visualized ourselves in a journey growing within the waters of the womb and how through the trust of our own decision to be born, we embrace this planet as a safe and abundant place to experience life and to keep admiring and inspiring each other in this web of growing human care and mutual nurture.
Individual and collective practices
Ancestral technologies for community strengthening like the Mexican Temazcal (ceremonial sweat lodge to return to the womb of the mother) and the Colombian Mambeadero (word weaving around the fire as practice for collective decision making and human interconnection in presence of the medicines of mambe- coca leave, and ambil- tobacco honey) were present; group meditations and traditional dances, as well as recognizing the power of our voice through the healing of singing and connecting with music instruments; A Japanese way to honour, connect and recharge energy called “Forest Baths” was also mentioned. Yoga, writing, weaving mandalas and having long walks in nature followed by the importance of our relationship with food, our health, our hands touching the soil and regenerating our gardens from the recognition of our own abundance gave impulse to the collective weaving. Also, the respect and value on the calling for responsibly sharing in guided ceremonies with Sacred Plants, and experiences around facing our fears, observing the movements where we feel separated or limited and having the capacity to discern and self-govern ourselves as we do everything we need to come back to our center, are some of the actions mentioned in order to be re-empowered and re-identified as a whole and healthy living organism.
We invite you to connect with us
We are holding regular spaces for connecting to each other, usually during Full and New Moon days, as a celebration to cultivate life, to reconnect with each other, to keep growing as a community of practice and to constantly celebrate the great gift of being together and alive in these extraordinary times.
We are open to include as many languages as our collective offers in the next gatherings.
For details of future Sun & Moon gatherings keep an eye on the Inner Transition Circle Facebook page, the Transition Network Eventbrite page, or add your details to the Inner Transition Circle database in English and Spanish.
